HOFFMAN / GLERUM / LOWER REUNION
June 30 - July 2, 1978
These documents were prepared by Uncle Jim Lower and given as a set to everyone who attended this reunion. Uncle Jim wrote on the title page,

"Thanks, everyone, for the special effort made by all to participate in our first HOFFMAN FAMILY REUNION.
We hope it won't be the last.
May each of us leave this place determined to further represent Jesus Christ in our respective places and to count it a real privilege to serve Him, bring honor and glory to His name in ALL that we say and do!

Until we meet again - - God Bless!"

ABOUT THESE DOCUMENTS
Aunt Millie wrote a short family history and Uncle Jim either interviewed family members or sent out questionnaires to compile childhood memories of Marion, Robert and Mildred Hoffman along with memories of many of the Grandchildren. These were collected and handed out in a packet at the reunion. Family recipes were also collected but I seem to have lost one of the pages but it might be in one of my cookbooks.
I was too young to have any memories of Grandpa Hoffman but I have lots of memories of Grand Hoffman. Going to her house on Coit St. on Saturday's AFTER our baths so all our hair would be wet and smelled of Breck Shampoo. Grandma Hoffman would often come over for holiday or Sunday dinners and I remember that she was to weak to help but would drag a dining chair into the kitchen and sit so she could still enjoy the talking with my Mom and Grandma Hendrickson. Maybe it is apocryphal as it was told so often but I feel I can remember standing in front of Grandma Hoffman with her arms around me with Grandma saying, "Don't worry, Mike will turn out okay."
